Arlington, VA — Singer-songwriter Krista O’Connell, known for her heartfelt fusion of folk and alternative sounds, is set to release her latest single, “Little Bit of Luck,” on Friday, June 13, 2025. The track follows her debut EP, Fight or Flight, and highlights her continued growth as a songwriter grounded in emotional honesty and lyrical nuance. Embracing a day often associated with bad luck, O’Connell flips the script—delivering a song that radiates optimism and grace. “This song came to me during a walk after a particularly exhausting day in early motherhood,” Krista shares. “It’s about embracing uncertainty by looking for a little bit of luck—and finding grace in the journey.”
A Virginia Beach native now based in the Washington, D.C. area, Krista has been steadily building a loyal local following through her community engagements and performances. She hosts the Lyrics for Lunch open mic and has performed at venues and events including Songbyrd, Art on the Avenue in Del Ray, local farmers markets, and breweries.
Her previous EP, Fight or Flight, received airplay on regional stations such as WHRO’s Out of the Box and WERA’s Local Music Scene, establishing her as a rising voice in the DC and Hampton Roads indie music community.
